Sample Answer
The line graph gives information about three kinds of lunches ordered at a Fitness Club from 1990 t0 2000. Overall, there was a dramatic shift in eating habits. Non-meat-based lunches became more popular over the period, while meat-based lunches became less popular, and by the end of the period, Vegetarian meals had become the most popular.
The graph shows that there was an increase in orders for non meat-based lunches. Between 1990 and 2000, vegan meals increased steadily from 500 to 6,000 with the exception of 1993, when orders remained stable at 2,000. Vegetarian meals also increased over the period. From 1990 to 1995, orders fluctuated between 4,000 and 5,000 and then roseĀ sharply. There was a brief dip in 1998 but by the end of the period, the figure had rocketed to 16,000, which was 10,000 higher than the figure for vegan meals.
On the other hand, decreasing numbers of meat-based lunches were ordered from 1990 to 2000. There was a sudden drop in 1991 from 15,000 to 10,000 then a steady decrease to 4,000 in 2000. 1997 was the first year that meat-based meals were less popular than vegetarian meals, while 2000 was the first year they were less popular than vegan meals.
